Scoring
Our scores are calculated on five key criteria:
Taste : 40 pts : The flavour of the filling, and balance of flavour over the entire roll
Rice : 20pts : Consistency, adhesion and seasoning of the rice
Nori : 20pts : Crispness and texture of the nori
Presentation : 5pts : Aesthetic appeal of the complete roll
Value : 15pts : Our perceived customer value for money
This is weighted very heavily in favour of taste, preparation and freshness - the qualities we find most important in a quick sushi snack - with a small nod to value, and a brief sideways glance to presentation.
Ourselves
We are a small group of dedicated sushi-fanciers, not afiliated with or involved in the restaurant or food industries. As such, we hope our reviews are as objective as possible - terrible sushi is described as terrible sushi, and legitimately fantastic sushi receives its due praise. Naturally, we're also required to point out that our reviews reflect our own personal experiences and opinions only; your experiences may be quite different.
